As COVID-19 presents unprecedented challenges impacting our lives and jobs, it’s becoming increasingly clear that we are in for a marathon and not a sprint. At Vitality, we are committed to helping our clients and members get through this as it’s more important than ever that people take care of themselves.
We want to remind you of several program resources available to you to ensure that you are taking advantage of your member benefits, focused on your health and continue earning those Vitality Points!
Vitality HealthyFood™ Rewards
As most of us are now preparing and eating our meals at home, this program makes healthy eating easier and more affordable. Registered members just need to show their HealthyFood shopping card when purchasing any of the healthier foods labeled as Great For You™ at any Walmart Neighborhood Market or Walmart retail store. When you purchase Great For You foods and use your card, five percent of the Great For You food costs are added to your Vitality HealthyFood shopping cards.
Get creative with workouts
As social isolation is now recommended across the United States, we’ve become creative in finding ways to encourage our members to exercise and earn Vitality Points. For the next three months, you can earn points for home gym workouts. It’s easy – log your workout on the Vitality Today™ app and submit a screen of the workout app or video you completed or even a selfie of yourself working out at home to earn Vitality Points!
You can continue to count fitness tracker workouts through your devices, including Apple Watch, Fitbit and Garmin.
We look forward to seeing your selfies and hope you take advantage of the various options available – get outside for a bike ride, walk or run while keeping your distance from others or check with your gym as many are offering free live-streamed classes during this time.
We’ll be sharing more ideas for working out at home in the coming weeks.
Focus on financial resources
We realize many of you are concerned about economic changes and workplace disruption and financial uncertainty at this time. Financial wellness program SmartDollar is available to some Vitality members. Vitality members receive personalized financial health recommendations and access to resources to assist in financial management.
Stay Healthy
These are just a few of the resources available to you as a Vitality member. We also understand that COVID-19 is putting a large amount of stress on many people, so we’ve put together a list of the resources Vitality offers to help you take care of your mental well-being. You can read about those options here.
