How to Spend Your No-Spend Weekend

The weekend can be a much-anticipated time for family and friends to reconnect after the work week. But it can also come with financial pressure to do adventurous, noteworthy activities, which can come with hefty costs. While the occasional splurge on concert tickets or upscale meals can be enjoyable, it’s also a good idea to have some lower-budget options in your back pocket…right alongside your padded wallet!

Try a new recipe

Bonding over delicious oven scents is a great way to spend time with loved ones. Whether you’re looking to make something sweet or savory, lean or indulgent – give one of these recipes from Vitality Kitchen a try!

Learn a new skill

If you’re interested in picking up a hobby or honing a new skill but aren’t sure where to start, you can find inspiration from one (or more) of these ideas. Remember, everyone starts somewhere!

Visit your local library

Spend time switching off from the world by getting lost in a good book. Reading can be a great way to take care of our wellbeing. If you’re looking to make reading social, consider joining a book club or having casual chats with friends about the latest book on your nightstand.

Dig into crafts or board games

Grab your crayons and Vitality coloring sheets and enjoy some quiet time as you give your mind a much-needed break. In the mood for a game with a friend? Play one of these board games.

Rise and shine

Begin your day with a warm cup of tea as you appreciate the beauty of the sunrise. If you’re an early riser, get outside and get moving with a stroll around your neighborhood – you’ll reap the benefits of getting outside.

Volunteer your time

You can make a difference in your community. Spending time at a local food pantry, donating blood, visiting the elderly or walking your neighbor’s dog are great ways to volunteer your time. Ask a friend or family member to join you as your volunteer buddy.

Put yourself first

Last but certainly not least, make time for yourself and relax. The weekend is a great opportunity to unwind and refocus before the next week begins.

Whatever you decide to do, we hope your weekend is filled with friendship, fun, laughter, and rest – and remember, you can have a full weekend without hurting the wallet. After all, a weekend well spent brings a week of content.
