Celebrating National Women’s Health Week

At Vitality, we believe that health is the foundation of a fulfilling life, which is why we’re proud to celebrate National Women’s Health Week, observed from May 11–17, 2025. This year’s theme, “Prioritizing Women’s Health: Caring for Mind and Body,” is a powerful reminder for women of all ages to prioritize their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Why Women’s Health Matters

Women are often the primary caregivers in their families and communities, yet they frequently put their own health last. Here are a few compelling statistics about women’s health, specifically regarding menopause, mental health, and cancer, according to the Office on Women’s Health (OWH):

  • More than 1 million women in the United States experience menopause each year, with the average age for menopause being 52.
  • Women are nearly twice as likely as men to experience major depression.
  • Cancer causes 1 in 6 deaths in women, and women younger than 50 are nearly twice as likely to develop cancer as men in the same age range.

How We’re Supporting Women’s Health

Through the Vitality program, we empower women to take charge of their health journey by encouraging them to prioritize healthy habits. Regardless of life stage or current health status, our activities are designed to engage members in their wellbeing to improve their health outcomes with lasting results.

Though it can be tricky to balance a busy schedule, prioritizing physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is liberating and necessary for a healthy future. This week, for Women’s Health Week, we encourage all women to tackle important health milestones, including:

  • Scheduling a routine check-up or screening.
  • Prioritizing mental wellness and seeking support when needed, either from loved ones, professionals, or both.
  • Staying active and nourishing your body with balanced nutrition
  • Learning more about reproductive and heart health.
  • Connecting with a healthcare provider to discuss any health concerns.
