Job Purpose

Product Owners play a key role in the software development lifecycle, taking ownership of their squads in alignment with the company strategic vision. POs have a unique skillset in that they can translate business needs and problems into solutions, communicate both with stakeholders, who may not be tech savvy, and developers alike. They perform analysis and write user stories, coordinate with teams throughout the company to gather requirements and deliver work, maintain and groom a product backlog, measure the performance of their squads and ensure they are performing optimally and act as leaders of their squads.

The Senior Product Owner is the benchmark for other Product Owners. Beyond what is noted above, they are expected to drive definition and adherence of best practices for other Product Owners as well as provide guidance to POs and Associate POs on how they can grow/improve their skillset.

Product Owner key outputs may include but are not limited to:

  • User Stories
  • Product backlogs
  • Documentation on solutions and support processes
  • Presentations to stakeholders
  • Best practices for other Product Owners


  • 2-3 Years of experience in related field. Minimum 2 years PO experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Analytical skills/critical thinking/problem solving
  • Requirements gathering/user story creation
  • Strong communication skills: Verbal and Written
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
  • Proactive addressing concerns of clients/business
